Melanie Weaver, Secretary

Melanie Weaver, D. Min., mother of three and grandmother of three, is a former high school language teacher who more recently has worked in various forms of lay ministry. She co-coordinated a Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) project in Calgary, Alberta, which supports people who are being released from long-term federal prison sentences. Her D. Min. dissertation focused on the lived experience of community volunteers who befriend, celebrate, challenge and support these former prisoners through their return to the community. Her experiences have taught her that mimetic theory offers a deep understanding of both the personal lives of offenders and the criminal justice system. Melanie currently resides with her husband, Dave, in Camrose, Alberta (Canada).
